Red Cone & Webster Pass

Drive from home at Fort Collins to the Handcart trailhead to meet others for the Red Cone / Webster Pass trails.

The Red Cone & Webster Pass trails - counter clockwise loop

Air quality is quite low - there's no chance to see Pike's Peak today as we can see the nearby Denver skyscrapers are hazy. I believe this is due to the forest fires in Utah.

Off of asphalt for the next few hours. Headed to the meeting spot.

This Toyota has seen better times. It looks like it tipped onto its passenger side. Broken glass and dented metal.

Headed up the Red Cone trail

These aspen trees look nice when they turn golden yellow.

There's a short stretch of large undulations / depressions / holes. They are large enough to have two tires, diagonal from each other, hanging in the air - no forward motion to happen unless traction control or a differential lock is available.

Rain to our south

nice sky to our north

These downhill sections are a bit steep and of loose rock leading to some sliding

Looking down at Webster Pass. We will take the left trail which leads back to the meeting spot we started at.
