Miller Rock - first trail of the season

First trail ride for the season. It has been a low snow season. While this trail is open all year (no gate) snow on the trail is the effective closure of it. Will we have snow in the typical spot to keep us out?

Clockwise loop.

In at the Raymond trailhead then straight to the main obstacle. All of us agreed to give it a go (solid success) and we went across the creek. On the way back from the east side trails we went straight to Miller Rock and all of us scampered to the top. From there we headed out and to the air-up/down spot. All of us separated and I headed north on the Peak-to-Peak highway to Glen Haven. Are they open?  Will they have cinnamon rolls in stock this late in the day?

Temps were to be high 80's and maybe touched 90. I left wearing a winter coat. It was quickly removed with the windows being zipped open for the rest of the day.

The trail ride has concluded and I'm driving north on the Peak-to-Peak highway to see if the General Store at Glen Haven is open for the season.  We're passing Saint Catherine's Chapel on the Rock.

Longs Peak (center)

Close to Estes Park - the mountains on the north/northwest edge of town.

The General Store is open! (second weekend for this season)  They had enough cinnamon rolls for a box to pass out to the neighbors. I saw a "cinnamon roll and chili" sign so I went for it (good chili). They have cobbler, fudge, and a host of sandwiches. All are worthy of a visit.
