Canyonlands N.P. Maze District, Cathedral Valley, Bryce N.P., Utah 12 Scenic Byway, Car fire help

This
will be a long trip! The plan is for a few days in the Maze
District of Canyonlands National Park - a quite remote area of the
lower 48. Miles from asphalt, gasoline & people. Out in Utah
expanse scenery - relaxing. Out from Maze District, the group will spit, most heading for home. I'll be a kid - foot loose and fancy free. The area northwest of Hanksville is on my eye - and depending upon how it concludes, if I'm near Bryce National Park, I'd like to visit as I have never been there. Pulling into Bryce, the jeep will present me with a surprise coolant leak from the radiator. Can I repair it? Can the issue be tended while away from home? Will it throw a wrench into the works - in the end, it was manageable and I was able to drive home - so long as the jeep stayed hot. It would only leak when the system cooled. In
the Maze District, we'll enter on Poison Springs Road (trail) which I
have traveled once before. A fun surprise was the Dirty Devil river
crossing - water was flowing fairly high. We exited the area via the
southern route to the Hite area. That road (trail) is smooth and allows
for higher speeds (20mph) for a faster time than Poison Springs Road

Rolling
solo, I found Cathedral Valley. Once there I poked up several dead end
routes, exploring with nary a care on my mind - good fun exploring
roads less traveled. |
