Jeep Hood - airflow via snow clearing

The jeep sat outside while two soft snowfalls fell the past couple days. It was fully covered before these picures were taken. Airflow at the hood surface does not flow front to back but rather forward. Snow started to clear near the windshield first and then farther forward as speeds increased.

The following photos were taken within 30 minutes of each other - after each faster section of road.

In this first picture, max speed was 45mph

Now with a 55mph stretch of road

After a bit of 65MPH roadway

I find it curious that the snow pushed forward that close to the front lip of the hood

The jeep sat, running, in a parking lot for ten minutes - some melt happened.

Curious that the front lip of snow hangs on.
