Telluride's at the end of the canyon.
A few years back was my first visit to town though I arrived via the trails - and came down the mountain with the waterfall.

Downtown Telluride

Ahh - more straight lines. The zig-zag of the Black Bear Pass trail. A trail with some vistual intimidation factor (read - GREAT VIEWS).

It comes into view at left side of the left waterfall - hugging the water just before the first waterfall.

The Telluride Powerhouse. Do a search for additional info.

Telluride isn't much of a stop for me today. I have a goal of traveling a long considered road - the gravel road between the Paonia Reservoir and Crested Butte (which is another town I've never visited - though today won't be much of a visit - daylight is getting long and the road and its scenery is the attraction).

Heading west on CO-145 to CO-62 to Ridgeway.

A bit happened between the above pic and this pic of the Blue Mesa Reservoir east of Montrose. On CO-62 out of Telluride I passed a car with a flat tire on the side of the road. One of the two people was out, up on the side of the road, cell phone high in the air trying to get a signal. I turned back - they shreadded a tire and didn't have the security lock to remove the wheel. I gave'm a ride to a place a short bit northwest of Montrose. I headed back to Montrose and headed east towards Gunnison where I'll "take a left" (north) to Crested Butte and then west again on the gravel road. I have a goal of camping somewhere along the road (not to happen - PACKED - for what a passenger car can access).

North of Gunnison towards Crested Butte

The only "sorta" pic of town

Heading west from town - in search of a campsite.

An interesting dam / spillway.

Flowing water. With the wire grate you can stop and watch the water flowing under the car.

Out from County Road 12 from Crested Butte, heading north along the Paonia Reservoir. Not finding a campsite I looked at the time and the distance and decided to haul back to Fort Collins. I should be able to get home about 1am or so.

A rare day - heading east on I-70 from Glenwood Springs - into the Glenwood Canyon, one of the most scenic stretches of Interstate, there's an eastbound train.
