Canyonlands Maze District - Dollhouse #2 to Standing Rock

Today will be a SHORT driving day. It'll also be the least desirable day of the trip. We never had rain or any chance of rain but the next undesirable weather was present - wind. From when we pulled into the campsite (#4) Standing Rock, the wind kept up. It became a nuisance that for a time each of us took a rest sitting in our vehicles. I wondered if I'd have an uncomfortable night sleeping in the passenger seat. In the end, the tent went up and didn't blow away. The jewel for the day was a morning walk / exploration.

Walking out to explore with Matt and Trent.

One column is getting tired.

It's totally safe. That big crack in the rock above our heads - nothing to be concerned with.

From the above picture, zooming in to the end of the valley.

Getting into the trip with a fuel range concern - documenting mileage and fuel gauge. I have two 2.5 gallon fuel tanks with measured 2.5 gallons each. No fuel into the tank as yet.

We're moving out of Dollhouse #2 heading to Standing Rock. I'm poking into the Dollhouse #1 site to see what it is like.

In the wash.

Already at the next campsite.
The day looks great!  We can't see the breeze turned wind.

Hardly any photos for the ample time we had at the destination campsite.
